Flu Vaccinations have arrived and our next Flu Clinic is on Saturday 26th October.

Please contact the surgery on 01642 827697, or call at reception, to arrange an appointment. If you are unable to attend the Flu Clinic please contact the surgery and staff will do their best to arrange an alternative appointment.

Bluebell Medical Centre is the new home for Middlesbrough's STAR GP Hub. Please click the link for further information New home announced for star GP hub . For queries regarding appointments with the service please contact your registered practice.  

GP opening hours have been extended for all GP practices in the South of Tees CCG area. 

To improve primary care services outside normal hours, patients can now access the South Tees Access and Response (STAR) service.

To see or speak to a clinician urgently between 6.30am and 9.30pm – Monday to Friday or 8am to 8pm weekends & Bank holidays please ring 111.

Please note that patients are unable to collect prescriptions or any other documents from this service, please continue to do so in normal surgery hours.

During normal hours patients should continue to contact Bluebell Medical Centre.

Nurses 

doctor_examining_childDon’t forget that the Practice Nurses can deal with many problems without recourse to the doctor.  You are encouraged to make an appointment to see the nurse for many aspects of health advice. 

Our Nurses deal with pre-travel and ‘flu immunisation, blood tests, injections, dressings, wound care.  The Nurses also run clinics looking after diabetes, asthma, blood pressure, cervical smear tests etc and are able to give expert dietary, contraceptive and lifestyle advice. 

Other Services 

ECG facilities, minor surgical procedures, including freezing warts with liquid nitrogen. 

District Nurses 

Our Community Nurses offer a complete range of nursing services within the home setting.

Health Visitors 

The Health Visitors provide a full-time service, mainly to under fives.  They are notified of all new births and will visit mothers at home after the midwife has completed her care.  If you have a problem and need to contact the Health Visitor speak to reception who will advise you of a contact number. 

Maternity Care 

pregnant8All the partners provide a full maternity service in conjunction with the Midwife.  Full ante-natal and post-natal care is given and all arrangements for your confinement will be made

Please talk to us beforehand if you are thinking about a future pregnancy, as there are several positive things you can do to increase your chances of a healthy baby. 

Referrals 

Hospital appointments are sometimes wasted because we and/or the Hospital Records Department have not been informed of a change of address or telephone number. 

Please tell us if you have changed your address or telephone number!

Waiting times vary tremendously, but you should be notified of your appointment fairly soon after your GP has made the referral.  If not, do check with us.
